What Does it Mean to be API Certified?
A new law recently passed in the Community of Valencia on Spain’s east coast which requires all estate agents to become officially registered in order to continue selling and renting properties.
Valencia estate agents must now fulfil several criteria and sit exams to prove that they are suitably qualified and insured in order to join the register.
This allows those looking to purchase a property in the Valencia region to easily identify a reputable company like Movehappy.

Meet the Team
Paul and Fran co-own the company and live together in Torrevieja a short distance from the company office. We have a father and son sales team and a mother and daughters administration and marketing team. Having a close family team means our clients receive a more personal and friendly service.
Paul Cox
Paul relocated to Spain in 2002 and has worked in the property market ever since. With over 20 years of experience, he has a deep understanding of the Spanish property market and local areas. Fluent in Spanish, Paul offers seamless communication and expert advice, ensuring clients feel confident and well-informed.
Fran Simmonds
Fran is the joint owner of Movehappy, alongside Paul. Based at the Torrevieja office, she manages all administration and property listings, with assistance from Pedro, the family dog. With her extensive knowledge of the local area and real estate market, Fran plays a vital role in ensuring clients find the perfect property.
Mario Sofroniou
Mario moved to Spain from the UK in 2001 and has over 20 years of expertise in the Spanish property market. Based in Cabo Roig, Mario is passionate about helping clients find their dream homes. With his local knowledge, Mario is known for his dedication, going the extra mile to ensure a smooth and enjoyable property search.
Chloe Wicken
Chloe, Fran’s daughter, is an essential part of the Movehappy team and is based in the UK. She manages digital marketing, including social media, content creation, and SEO strategies. Her work ensures the company maintains a strong online presence, reaching and engaging with clients effectively across various platforms.
Hannah Cox
Hannah, Paul’s daughter, supports the Movehappy team from the UK, handling a wide variety of administrative tasks.
